This is turning great. It looked so stubby in one of the final renders. During the build, it's looking much more graceful. I love the asymmetry, the long, swooping curve along the north-facing side. Consistent with my handle, I only wished they would add another 5-10 stories.

My concern is the crown. Assuming that is where the window washing equipment will be stored, so as the crown peaks to the NW, will it be visible from the East? That open segment of the Trump Tower has always bothered me. I mean, create a retractable door that matches to close off the west portion of the housing. Just looks bad. Ok, rant over.

I wonder if if they added floors? In the original drawings there were 7 floors from the last setback then the crown but now their up to 9 floors and it looks like their starting another one.

From the rending on page 1, I count 11 floors between the setback and the crown

Your right. I realized I was looking at early blueprints.

Good lord harry your going to make me sound like dick after you posting that photo. Especially after working at nbc at realizing how many homeless are around that area, especially along the lake and under the columbus bridge. But I was thinking the other day to turning that park into maybe a wnter garden dome? Might spruce up the area and attendance for streeterville.

From the webcam im seeing these red posts lining the edge of the roof. Can anyone explain the construction process of crowns like this one. Even more helpful would be if you guys got any old pictures of One Museum Parks crown being installed or another similar building.

Not sure what the red poles are for - they appear to have been used as tie-offs for the safety lines, but they could have another primary purpose.

I suspect they are delaying the core demobilization so they can use the placing boom for the big wall pours. It's over 500 cy if memory serves.

Hey harry, so whats the reason for pouring a wall along the roof if its just going to be covered by a crown anyway? Is it just for support against weather for the roof equipment, window washing and ect.? I dont remember the trump crown having a wall like this. Just steel bracing for the glass, but i could be wrong.

The perimeter walls are a part of the lateral system of the building, but also there will be a water tank damper within.

Drove by this on lakeshore yesterday with the bright sun shining and WOW does it stand out! The glass looked beautiful, not the usual blue but it's just a white mirror like glass. It grabs your eye and looks amazing lighting up in the sunshine. Almost like a toned down disco ball. I love it.

Bummer. They shutdown the webcam. I wanted to watch them install the crown. Fingers crossed it's just a glitch.
