I can only find one render that even has it in frame and it's just a grayed out space, not sure if that's because there are plans to just pave it or it just got left out by the artist for being unimportant. Hopefully they can stick some trees and benches there at least.

I have to think as these new buildings come on line, we'll finally see a retail revolution on 2nd Street in Northern Liberties. Between this and all of the new multi-family development in South Kensington, there's simply too many people and too much income for retailers to ignore.

Having Post Brothers at the helm instead of Blatstein alone I would think guarantees this.

A lot of Philly people in restaurants and retail avoid (committing to) Blatstein projects because they can't stand the guy. In a way, this has contributed to Northern Liberties being held back to some extent...that Blatstein was the main landlord for so long.

I've also wondered about and am sort of fascinated by this. They must own it, so it's not like they're unable to incorporate it. And the wedge will sit between the exposed ingress/egress of the current Acme parking and a largely blank wall of the apartments, so what does it possibly become? I'm wondering if they have plans to somehow re-orient or expand the ingress/egress of the parking using this space? In a project where the series of other outdoor spaces seem so intentional, it's hard to imagine them just putting grass or pavers down here and letting people do whatever they want with it, though I'm sure a dog park would not be the worst use if they really can't think of another way to use it. But agreed, so strange to leave those few extra square feet out of the design.

That's the one! It's really weird for several reasons. First of all, it was never incorporated into either the 2nd & Girard Pathmark (later Superfresh, now Acme) site plans; nor was it incorporated into the Piazza Terminal site plans. As a result, it was conveyed to neither owner. According to the City's property finder, the property is now 1101 N. 2nd Street and owned by 1101 Partners LLC, whose mailing address is conveniently this property. They bought it for $25k back in March of 2019. (Apparently they're also already delinquent on their real estate taxes, too.) Which makes ownership murkier and even more mysterious!

Department of State records lists 1719 Rittenhouse Square as the registered address for the LLC. This is the same address as Tower Investments which developed the Piazza.

I believe that crane is not a "permanent" crane but instead anchored by a vehicle. I'm sure someone has a better terminology for it than I just provided.

In the latest iteration of this project, a large pool complex is going on top of the garage. I don't recall if any additional parking levels are being added, or if they're simply putting a platform on the existing structure. Post Brothers is all about their elaborate aquatics centers!
