I just wish some of our photographers would turn around and provide some photos of what's going on across the street at the Ballet School site. I passed by there today on the 47 bus and couldn't see much except that there were excavators hard at work.

^SF has turned its back on the “row house charm” in favor of “big box store”

1580 Mission Street

The glass is being installed on the building - interesting pattern. I note today that the building is at it's highest as metal is being put on that will apparently be the mechanical penthouse.

I've always thought that verticality and narrow frontages are far more "San Francisco" than bay windows. I definitely don't expect to see it expressed in large projects like this, but you'd think it'd be more common overall.

^^I went by that project on the 47 bus just yesterday and I didn't get the same impression of it being "oppressive" with a wider field of view.

^^Beautiful shot but, once again, I wished you had lowered your camera a bit for another shot of the ballet school project.

I wanted to get some shots of the part of the building other than the tower (note the nifty city seal on the part where the city will have offices):

This has become one of my favorite buildings. It looks so elegant from the freeway.

from the J car, yesterday. This building and the rest of the Hub will make the skyline feel like it's almost on top of Dolores Park instead of off in the distance. I also noticed three or four cranes in the Mission.
