Yes, 2016 has been an explosive year for real estate in metro St. Louis.

In December 2015, Realtor.com included St. Louis on the list of "The Top 10 Real Estate Markets to Watch in 2016" (for homebuying) so it doesn't surprise me that other real estate sectors (commercial, retail, multi-family, industrial) in St. Louis are following suit.

For example, the local industrial market has been put at #11 - within the '17 Top Performing Industrial Market' and industrial construction ranks in the #10.

Mouais...

I like the way it's kind of developing anyhow, but this is physically too hard for women, huh?
Nothing sexist here, yet sort of shocking, St Louis.

Women should only be the managers in large offices. Like senior executives.

I must report on this objectively.

If it happens, it would have been nice to get one way before the election, but St. Louis could be getting a Trump Hotel.

I don't know if it is the Trump International brand or Trump's new "Scion" brand.

History: 12-story, Hotel Jefferson. It has been empty and rotting for about 15-years.
Built: 1904 for the World's Fair
Developer: Alterra International Holdings with Chinese investors
Proposed: 250-rooms, 250-apartments, retail, restaurants

Trying.....to.....stay......objective.

Bah, why not? Donald's money's not worse than anyone else's.

Wash your hands after having touched some money, though. Don't touch your face when you just touched a dollar bill.
It's dirty, hanging all around in strangers' hands.
And you never really know what strangers do of their hands, huh.
So keep yours clean.

That's what you say. We don't know how bad is his money because he has not released his taxes.

Also, the hotel would not have been owned by Trump. It only would've been branded by Trump Hotels - by the developer who is also working with Marriott.

The mayor of St. Louis has tweeted, "No Trump Hotel" in downtown St. Louis.

However, the redevelopment planning will continue to move forward. This was a hotel built for the 1904 World's Fair.

Power to the people.

Yeah, no doubt Marriott written at the frontdoor would be better, by trillions of miles.
I hear people living the neighborhood of the tower bearing Donald's name in Manhattan are embarrassed as f$ck now.

Marriott is a solid and politically neutral brand. Just regular people quietly doing their business.
It really would be much better.

The transformational $400-million CityArchRiver project is still in full swing in downtown St. Louis.

It is the largest riverfront project currently underway in the Midwest - if not the U.S..

Work currently is being done on Kiener Plaza, the new Museum of Westward Expansion and other integral parts of the Gateway Arch grounds.

All are a part of The Gateway Mall, which stretches more than one mile from the Mississippi River to Historic St. Louis Union Station.

Below are just a few photos of the vast project.

St Louis is seriously the most underrated American city. It's so amazing in it's own right.

St. Louis is a big Agri-business and research corridor and Bunge Ltd. has decided to build its new North American HQs building in St. Louis.

Bunge North America is an agribusiness and food ingredient company dedicated to improving the global food supply chain.

The $60-million, 150,000-square-foot HQs will be near Monsanto's Chesterfield Village Research Center, which is about to complete a $400-million expansion.

Monsanto is in the process of merging with Bayer Corporation. And Bayer reportedly will be making St. Louis its North American Commercial HQs.

This is not the first marriage (or joint venture) between Bayer and Monsanto. In 1954, the companies formed MoBay - a chemical company that was originally HQd in St. Louis, but later moved to Pittsburgh.

St. Louis College of Pharmacy's Phase II mixed-used building - student center, residential and gymnasium - is nearly complete.

See live feeds below.

STLCOP is nestled within the Washington University Medical Center.

St. Louis unveiled the name of its new AgTech District today. Read about and see the unveiling video HERE.

St. Louis unveils 39 North, region's agtech innovation hub
Dec 7, 2016, 11:53am CST Updated Dec 7, 2016, 12:25pm CST

St. Louis County’s Plant Science Innovation District has an official name and a first round of funding.

The innovation district was named 39 North — after the latitude that cuts through the region — and will encompass nearly 600 acres in Creve Coeur. It will include St. Louis’ top plant science and agtech companies, including Monsanto Co., the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, BRDG Park and the Helix Center Biotech Incubator.

A $400,000 grant from Great Rivers Greenway will fund the first phase of the innovation district, which will be a greenway connection from Monsanto’s Creve Coeur headquarters to the Helix Center.

Government and company officials unveiled the name and funding Wednesday morning at the Danforth Center.

"What began with Creve Coeur with Monsanto and the Danforth Plant Science Center is expanding. With those premier scientific facilities as anchors, we are establishing a new agtech innovation district," St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger said. "It's a very exciting day."

Here is a nice recap of some of the bigger projects announced for STL this past year. It includes a new 36 story tower in the Central West End Neighborhood that was just proposed. Overall it has been a great year for development, with no reason to expect a slow down moving forward into 2017.

At first I wasn't sure how i felt about the tower, but its definitely grown on me. Cant wait to see it built. Also hope it forces the developer looking at the parking lot right next to it to step their game up.
