This is one of my favorite projects in the world right now. Slender, elegant, dramatic, and would fit in nicely amongst the supertalls in corosant from star wars. Magnificent design, can't wait to see it rise.

To me, it simply looks like the AON Center LA on steroids.

Doesn't surprise me that this has stopped. It would not surprise me that this never gets built, either.

Yes it´s nice. I dislike this tower. Here a few recent photos, they don´t show active construction: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...558031&page=19

Perhaps a rumors right. But it seems to true, CTBUH changed the status. Thats a reiable source. I don´t knpw why construction is stopped, perhaps because of the wheater, but that´s a rumors too. I don´t know, I just know, that it´s on-hold to the current time.

^The CTBUH is only as reliable as the information they get. . . I discussed this over the weekend with Marshall - the CTBUH Database Manager - and he's not going to make any changes until new information comes to light. . . that doesn't mean that we at SSP have to follow lock-step with everything they do. . . and I'm not bouncing this thread back and forth between sub-forums. . . if it's truly "on hold" it can sit here and fade away in peace and quiet. . . if new information comes to light - as I suspect it will when they start work on the super-caisson in March, it can get back to being a relevant topic once again. . .

In the meantime, we can't just have people posting rumors or Wikipedia links (Wikipedia is not a valid source of information. . . it might /lead/ you to a valid source, but you can't make a case by referring to a Wikipedia link as being factually correct.)

Tom you´re right about Wikipedia. I know. I just said that CTBUH changed the status. For which reason, nobody knows.

Spring Festival is coming here soon so that might have something to do with it. It's like Christmas and New Year's rolled out a month and half later. Chinese New Year for people who otherwise have no clue.
In any case , I'm heading to Tianjin for the holiday and I'll see what I can find out about the matter while I'm there.

Please do so. But CTBUH seems to be right, the photos show no active construction. However, I hope you will find out something.
