Hoisting rebar over traffic was indeed pretty negligent, and the scaffolding crew moving about unteathered is just asking for trouble. It evokes the roaring-20s style nostalgia, which is kind of cool, but this will tarnish an otherwise fantastic project for the duration of construction.
err, where would you suppose the 'ol inflatable rat tactic originated?

^^I assumed it originated in the democrat, pro-union machine that is Chicago!

Apparently I'm wrong. Point taken

Although pretentious a holes like the man in the video have to realize the difficulty of the job. It can at times be not as planned or unexpected. The nature of the work. Well, at least these men are building our cities, instead of rotting in an office and having thy arteries clogged; so props to them in the greater scope of what they are doing for us all.

We need more non-unions construction sites in NYC. The insane wages demanded by the construction unions are seriously hampering development of skyscrapers and transportation infrastructure.

There was in fact a rat placed at this site earlier before construction started.

There's an absolutely incredible interior rendering of a penthouse unit in this tower in the NY Post. The views are best in the city.

Even 220 CPS can't compete, IMO. What are they going to charge for that kind of view?

There's not much in the city that beats it. At least up to this point. But we know SHoP has other supertalls in the works (Hudson Yards, Brooklyn, Downtown), so I can't wait to see what they produce for those other sites. I still think 53W53 just squeaks by this one on design, but this on has the superior location and height, thus getting the better views.

^ not to get too off this bldg, but assuming he will design them as he did 100 11th ave in chelsea, nouvel is going to have to seriously up his game on the quality of materials inside the 53w53 apts. the interiors at 100 11th look slick, but are actually kind of junky. of course, that bldg is geared toward nitwits like pro athletes and kardashians and people who have more money than sense. tower verre aims for quite a different demographic.

to date i am going with 111w57 here as the most posh address and best apts.

we will soon see!

Cool video on the facade. Mini-model, in motion!

This will look seizure inducing at night due to its epic nature.
