I wonder if this tower will have a night time lighting scheme? I noticed 20 Exchange Place has recently begun lighting its crown at night. With the financial district slowly changing into a residential district, it's nice to see the area beautified at night. Now we just need the Woolworth Building to turn its light back on... there's a lucrative penthouse up there now but i'm sure they'll figure something out.

Just a quick add to that, I'll never understand why 40 Wall's peak hasn't been lit up, either.

But I don't see why one of the most wildly anticipated new supertalls in this City shouldn't have a lighting setup that could rival ESB.

We'll just hafta wait for a render.

...Trump

just for the record this isn't a political post. Trump owns it and wanted to renovate the tower but apparently plans fell through.

I think 30 Park Place is a decent stand in until Woolworth is lit again.

Barring the rise of 2 WTC, this will be the 2nd tallest for Lower Manhattan. Eclipsing 3 WTC.

I do hope we hear word on 80 South.

I should point out that the 1,115 ft height is not to tip, but the height of the roof slab. It rises to 1,127 ft above that, and then the parapet will rise above that height.

I'd love to see a rendering of this tower on the skyline from the Kings side of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Glad this one is finally U/C … will be a fun one to watch rise and will make a notable impact on the Lower Manhattan skyline.

And since the plateau of this part of the Financial District is relatively low, we won't have to wait long until it is easily visible on the skyline.

The tallest in the area by far is nearby 20 Exchange PLace at 741'.

This jewel surpasses that jewel by 386'.

Wow, this really looks like a fantastic design! I think between this, 111 W. 57th, Torre Verre, and 9 DeKalb we're finally seeing skyscraper design rediscover a kind of elegance and grace that had been all but lost during the long dark years of high modernism, and that postmodernism only occasionally achieved. Really excited to see it rise!

I agree, we are seeing a return to some great design.

I was thinking that too when I started seeing more designs like this popping up.

SHoP needs to come to Boston...it doesn't look like they stray from NYC too much though.
