They're being shot with drones - so technically aerials. Granted they aren't from thousands of feet in the air, but some of them have been taken from 700+ feet up.

Love what drones are doing for aerial photography!

Austin is really blowing up. But they need to deal with the rail bridge paint. Otherwise the drop-kick kids are controlling a big chunk of the city's image.

I don't like it either, but remember the expression about "glass houses".

I actually really like the graffiti on the rail bridge, and it's about the only place you'll find any in Austin. Austin is almost too squeaky clean.

There's no official definition, and there won't be. But photos taken above the ground but below a significant number of nearby buildings, like today's Austin pic, inhabit a grey zone--they're also skyline photos.

Drone over various NYC sites:

Also, since this is recent, within last two weeks or so, we can see various projects u/c. The pyramid, Riverside, Nordstrom Site (look carefully), and so on.

0:41 is pretty nice.

1:13 Brooklyn Skyline growing.

Not exactly an aerial, but here's one I just took of Rogers Park, looking north into Evanston, Illinois and at the frozen shores of Lake Michigan...
