The Broadway goes shopping with Neiman Marcus and Mercedes

If being too far away from Neiman Marcus or a Mercedes-Benz dealer is keeping you from buying that penthouse at The Broadway, go ahead and sign that contract now.

The Broadway has signed partnerships with the luxury retail store and Mercedes-Benz of Boerne to offer sneak peaks and VIP treatment for residents of the 20-story condos.

"Ultra-luxury living means providing residents with the finest in conveniences and quality services offered nowhere else," Mike Reddell, project manager for The Broadway, said in a news release. "Neiman Marcus and Mercedes-Benz are international leaders in the luxury marketplace, and we are thrilled about the unique opportunities these partnerships bring to our residents."

Neiman Marcus will offer residents onsite trunk shows, VIP invitations to designer events and access to its personal shopping services.

Mercedes will give sneak previews of select models at VIP events and offer residents onsite test drives as well as its door-to-door maintenance and repair service.

The condos are scheduled to open in late 2009, and will offer 92 units starting in the high $500,000s.

They've raised the crane, and I think they'll have to raise it again in the future. This thing is going to be huge.

Looks like they're pouring the 8th floor at the moment as well.

The Broadway building heights.

So, I emailed the folks at thebroadwaysanantonio.com yesterday for the building heights and floor count info.

I got a reply back today from Mike Reddell with the Ironwood Marketing Group. They of course are the company that is marketing The Broadway.

Here's a San Antonio Business Journal article that mentions them:

Koontz McCombs taps Dallas firm to lead marketing efforts for The Broadway

From Mike's email to me:

Basically what this means is that if you stood there and counted the floors, you would see 20 actual floors. But because of the tradition of skipping the 13th floor for superstitious reasons, once they reach the 13th floor, they skip it. So instead of it reading "13" on the elevator, it's actually labeled as the 14th floor. So what would be the 20th floor ends up being counted as the 21st. Make sense? So the building should be listed as having 20 floors.

Here are the heights.

278 feet, 7 inches to the top of the mechanical penthouse parapet. This is the highest point on the building and would be the official height of it.

260 feet, 11 inches to the main roof parapet.

240 feet, 5 inches is the height of the 20th and highest floor. So standing on the 20th floor looking out the window, you'd be 240 feet, 11 inches above the street.
