Iceland / Rose Cherry Place

"I'm wearing pink for all the pinkos out there that ride bicycles and everything.

I'm being ripped to shreds by the left-wing pinko newspapers out there. It's unbelievable. One guy called me a jerk in a pink suit, so I thought I'd wear that for him too… That's what you'll be facing, Rob, with these left-wing pinkos. They scrape the bottom of the barrel.

Rob Ford is going to be the greatest mayor this city has ever seen, as far as I'm concerned... Put that in your pipe, you left-wing kooks."

I thought this would be a thread about Iceland.

What's the arena like? How do the Steelheads and Raptors draw there?

You guys already know that I only take boring and ugly photos, so you shouldn't expect Reykjavík, but I understand if you are disappointed.

Iceland is a community skating rink across the street from where Rose Cherry Place ends. The actual big corporate venue/arena on Rose Cherry has the typical convoluted name, Paramount Fine Foods Centre (formerly Hershey Centre). I'm not sure about Raptors 905 (I am more interested in the Raptors) but the arena is only around 4000 capacity.

I don't show much of the arena itself here because of lack of time and I forgot to recharge camera battery. Maybe I will come back to take pictures of the arena and the empty parking lots. Maybe even some photos of a Raptors 905 game if they allow it. For now, I just focus on the general corridor of Rose Cherry Place. I figured that a view of the Toronto skyline from a street named after Don Cherry's dead wife would be a fitting tribute to him. And of course, let's not forget about his late friend, Rob Ford, as well. Not a single bike lane in sight!

That's quite a decent skyline view that looks much closer than from Mississauga!

Herschel Walker was right... Canada took our good air and gave us your crappy air.

^ Yeah, the landscape in these photos definitely has a very strong American atmosphere. Very astute observation.

I am not used to shooting with a telephoto lens, and I wish I focused a bit further into the background to get the skyline sharper, but maybe it wouldn't have made a much of a difference since it was so hot and hazy.

I've know some good views of Toronto from Mississauga, but I don't have enough photos to make a full thread yet. It's multiple locations all over the city so it will take a long time, especially since I lost my driver's license.

I just noticed in that picture the iconic brutalist buildings in Etobicoke on the left side. Those buildings probably deserve their own special thread.

I agree that shot with the skyline and yellow flowers is really cool!
