Not sure if the rendering that was given to us is current? This is once again listed on M2 Development Partners’ website, but it is of the design we seen that was made public…maybe a bit taller- (potential supertall status?) and Ritz Carlton logo at the top.

For reference:

M2 just added that to their website in the last couple days which is a good sign for the project. But that is allegedly the old design with the logo added. Not sure what to think at this point.

...And the image/rendering is stretched. Making it look taller than it is.

It's definitely just a stretched image. Look at 70 Rainey.

Yep. Same number of levels in the uppermost tower blocks of both renderings.

The Fairmont looks less squatty in that stretched image at least.

Even the Hilton General Hospital looks more impressive.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like this version of stacked boxes better than the 'new' one.

I don't hate it, but imagine it without the greenery that is probably just rendering dressing.

There is still a rooftop restaurant planned for this project, correct?

I think it may be safe to assume that with the delay in start that there will be changes to the amenities...if built at all.

I wouldn't categorize this as "delayed" the plan going back over a year ago was for this to not be under construction alongside the other 3 buildings.

I don't believe that was the "plan." I think that is simply what happened. A developer does not (usually) announce a project and then "plans" not to do anything with it for a few years.

So 3+ years before construction is wrapped up on the other buildings plus another 2-3 years for construction for this one. Looking at a 28-29 opening.

I have seen so many renderings with greenery all over their designs. But I've never seen any skyscraper in real life with that much luscious greenery all around it.

I've seen some in Singapore. Though it's so humid there I could see trees just spontaneously pop up on buildings also....

Yeah, there are numerous examples of planted skyscrapers in southeast Asia and Australia. There are some in Mediterranean Europe too. Bosco Vertical is an example in Italy.

I think it would be pretty difficult and costly to do that in our climate though.

There is a living wall mid-rise in L.A. in the Hollywood Hills and its like partially alive.

You really don't want that here looking at the state of my yard.

I like going back and reading through topics and I’d like to note We vs Us dropped the first hint of this project back in 2019:
