Jessup House by Philly SkyGuy, on Flickr

The northeast corner is where the fire happened. Looks clean like nothing happened

Ugh if Target had just waited a little longer they'd have these apartments and the new Jefferson building across Chestnut, such a bummer that space is empty.

Right?!

How they couldn't for-see the boon to the business the new Jefferson building was going to be is astounding. What a miss.

Let's be honest, Target isn't really geared toward employees needs anyway. Something more appropriate will fill its place with the added demand so it's not worth worry about.

Yeah, and Target's urban model woes obviously are not only confined to Philly.

Other businesses are bound to try again to fill in the mini-department store/convenience store niche with a different business model. It's still such an underserved market, especially with Center City's growth continuing.

Nope -- the sidewalk is still not open. Walking north on 12th Street from Locust Street to Market Street you have blockages of the sidewalk first where 12th Street Gym used to be and then on the opposite side a blockage due to Jessup House construction.
