MARTA unveils new train cars

"The interior features an open gangway so riders can move freely between cars, seating options including facing forward and inward, spacious luggage and bicycle areas, and large, accommodating ADA doorways and spaces. The new trains, designed and built by Stadler, will have state-of-the-art technology providing convenient charging stations and digital system maps and service information, along with small upgrades that make a big difference on the daily commute such as wind screens near the train doors and improved heating, cooling and lighting systems."

Woah. These are awesome. Easily the best-looking metro trains in America, and the first to have open gangways. Good on MARTA.

It's also interesting as Stadler has not made metro trains before... they've done plenty of regional and intercity trains, but metro systems see a whole other level of abuse and wear/tear since they run so often and see such crowding.

MARTA always had cool looking stations and I always liked their logo and the three colors.

Atlanta really got the best of late 1970s era design in many of their large buildings and public spaces.

These look incredible. Love how the front changes color depending on which line it's running.
