This clunk upon clunk of a vanity project reminds me of how every skit involving Mary Katherine Gallagher on SNL concludes with crashing, flailing, and unwanted

visuals involving crotch-shots.

I've never been to Miami and now I have another reason to avoid it.

Putting your fingertips into your armpits and then smelling them seems to be what may become a "Miami salute!"

"But, but, but, It's a Supertall!" seems to be the only reason this monstrosity is underway.

This threat sounds more like a gift to the locals.

It's ok to not like certain designs. Perhaps you should balance your comments out a bit with a little praise for some that you do enjoy. Or perhaps your taste in architecture is as dated as your cultural referecnes.

It might grow on me, but for now I still think it's dorky looking.

One thing I'll give Miami is this, it's one of the few skyscraper cities that has its own unique style, not many other cities can say that. However, that style is not very pleasant in my option and this building is the perfect example of that.

I would say this tower is a significant departure from "Miami skyscraper style"... far from a perfect example of it.

I said that months ago. A more fitting design would be curvy not blocky like this. I guess many were so anxious for it to get built given the height that they didn't really care as much. I guess we will see how it looks in the skyline when it's done...

I'd argue that if this building were in the style of 'Miami modernist,' which Miami has strayed far from in terms of building design in favor of balconies and nothing else, then this building would really be a winner.

I imagine it will. I just thought it was much further along.

Me too, as it's in the U/C section.

If the condos are sold there's no reason not to build it right?

Caisson rigs are on site. I can take a picture if I get back over there at some point.

That is correct. Site prep is just taking a while but it will rise. We just have to be patient. Along with all the other near-supertalls currently in prep mode or just about to start prep mode. Many with excellent pre-sale achievements.

Similar situation to Okan tower. Just taking a little bit longer on the prep side. But its nothing new to Miami. As an example, the Halo in Newark NJ took forever to get the site prep done and now is rising. So patience!

Walford also has a pre-construction loan along with other financing measures secured. More optimism on that end.
