This little block has changed so much over the past 10 years or so.

Right now its in demo stage.

I liked the J&R that use to be there. They use to have a little spot where you could chill up there, I think on the 3rd or 4th floor. Better prices than B&H, probally was operated by the same folks too.

I thought I read somewhere that J&R is leaving open the possibilty of reopening a brick&mortar at some point. Not sure if that's still in the cards. It says everything pretty much shut down in 2014. I can't imagine they think the retail landacape is more promising in the 2020's than they did 10 years ago.

EDIT: Apparently thats water under the bridge as I just read another interview that said their future is in real estate.

Wow this is just great. Park Row went from being one of the ugliest to one of the most beautiful stretches of buildings in less than a decade. Next would be to demolish and replace that terrible monstrosity to the south and then we would have a nearly-perfect modern city park.

I totally agree. I'd be happy if that PoS was even just reskinned.

I'd like to see the old Post Office rebuilt. Now that would be something to see.

Absolutely, but just imagine if the buildings of Newspaper Row had never been demolished. What an incredible ensemble that would be.

Apparently people didn't like it back in the day.

Yes, still not the topic at hand but I found a stereoscope image of the old post office online:

Nice turret. That's one thing this design could use, a turret at the top right at the curve.

I find them to be the most reasonably priced.

But like everything these days they're really being hurt by the online signage stores.
