Really thats awesome Chris, you visit Brandon and Meridian often? I agree and threefoot building is iconic, I'm happy its complete as well. Hopefully more investment across the state will bring new iconic buildings across the state.

I haven't been up there in a few years. I don't leave New Orleans much. Don't have any family left in Meridian. It was a favorite place for me to go as a kid though.

I'm sorry to hear that. Thats wassup, Meridian has changed a lot you'd love it now too. You from New Orleans love that city, planning a trip there this year to the Saints home opener game. I gotta take a look at NOLA thread, I bet theres a lot development in your backyard.

Yeah there's a lot going on here. You'll see today or yesterday they were pictures posted of a big new development by the convention center.

Nola to Jackson. That’s a helluva boring drive. Done it many times when working on hospitals.

King Edward Hotel and the residential component. I try to stay there when I'm in town, but it has unfortunately declined in quality due to the pandemic.

Nah brother I have to disagree I love the scenery, what hospitals have you worked on in the area? And what’s some other exciting commute across America I need add to my travel list

Really that’s nice. It’s beautiful building hate that service has gone down. Do you know why Jackson Marriott Downtown closed and if they will find a hotel brand to replace it? Hopefully it is turned into something special hate to see vacant buildings downtown

A lot of hotels and commercial buildings in general have been unavailable to pay the debt service on their loans since the state of the pandemic. Occupancy rates (REVPAR) are very low and haven’t recovered. The water situation doesn’t help either. It’s difficult to maintain high quality service when not enough revenues come in to make a profit. That’s my guess, but I don’t know for sure. I’m happy to see the King Edward hotel hanging on.

Wow I learned so much from your post. You painted a picture for me and I had no idea things were that bad. Hopefully they build a new hotel connected to the convention center. I thought ever sense Deion sanders came to JSU that hotels were thriving but man I was wrong. And yeah I’m happy King Edward hotel is still hanging on. Which convention center hotel plan do you like? I think this one is nice
