A breathtaking look from the Empire State Building observation deck at Midtown, and the Travelstead Building

AH!

My good Marvelfan, Do my eyes decieve me or perchance did you go and remake the Google maps to reflect a more historical view?
I note the grace of the Singer Building in the background as well as the noted lack of any modern 'Big Boring Boxes"

Yep that's just what i did. I removed every single building built after 1939 and added the Singer building.

I got some good stuff planned ahead for this thread (but limited time). Downtown will be crazy, and alot of buildings to be featured were from the early 1900's.

I know many buildings have been called bad in the last half millenia, but now I present to you the worst high profile, high caliber, and high stakes building in the last 50 years, 432 Park Avenue.

The worst has captured the title of king of Midtown East

Over a staggering 1,300+ ft high 432 Park is the tallest in Midtown, and third in NYC

A look high in the sky at the Four Seasons and 432 Park Ave

A look east at arguably the best canyon in NYC, 57th Street

A look at what IS great and what COULD'VE been great

A changed but still awe inspiring look at Midtown and the coffee stain known as 432 Park Ave

432 Park Ave peeks in an ugly hello at St. Patrick's Cathedral , behind is the Olympic Tower

A look from Columbus Circle at the two defining characteristics of the Central Park skyline, One 57, and 432 Park

When viewed close up 432 Park Ave is a monstrosity but from between the TWC it blends in nicely

An awesome view from the Pond, at good and bad, priceless and worthless, beautiful and ugly, old and new

(Enough time wasted on 432 Park Ave)

A look west from the East River at arguably the world's best skyline

In many minds one of the most romantic views includes the NYC skyline and the Triborough Bridge

Metlife North seems a little bit separate from the rest of Midtown. The skyline should expand south to that area just enough to not overcome the ESB.

^ Trust me if the Metlife North was actually constructed and was legitimately here before our very eyes in reality, than that entire area would be lined with 500-900 footers.

^ I'll have a full series on 250 East 57th St (with texture), but that's later on. But for now we have a long evening ahead.
