Washington Park COULD work. The green line is right there and all the food trucks that come by UChicago could park there and make a killing.

And what does the CPD think about unregulated camping in public parks?

Northerly Island could maybe work because they could just close the whole thing off, and make it secure with ticketed admission (wristbands, etc).

I don’t think festival goers want to mingle with Chicago’s homeless population.

Great updates Le Baron. The white paint looks pretty good contrasting with the color of the glass. I wouldn't hate it if they had just left the concrete be without paint. I'm sure when all is said and done it'll look great. Let's hope the paint stands the test of time but I fear it'll get dirty and look tacky. We'll see.

Great photos of the South Loop as usual LB, and while I know this forum has a massive boner for exposed concrete, the paint really makes this building pop and these pictures show just how much more striking this building is with white outlines, as opposed to having weird grey and stained concrete.

The South Loop has won the architectural trophy for this cycle, and it really isn't close with Essex, OGP, Paragon, Jahn coming down the line, 1001 S State, and the incoming developments down the pipeline. So wonderful to see this part of the city start to really catch up.

Sure the West Loop is getting great raw numbers, but the buildings are smaller and often times less attractive than what is getting added to the already beefy South Loop skyline.

Yeah, now if we can only get some of the restaurants from the West Loop to move here...

It looks good. Metal panel would have looked better.

Agreed. I'm total South Loop trash but I do wish the neighborhood had a little more personality. Villains and Gordos can't do all the heavy lifting by themselves ...

I was on the Dan Ryan today around Roosevelt Rd and the white paint looks awesome. It pops incredibly well especially at distance.

Screening the cars - 215 W Lake is getting their green wall working now, on the South side of the building, this on the West side would get more than enough sun.

At this point, I'm hoping that Crescent Heights will realize how quickly the South Loop is growing, and they'll wait until the 78 materializes. Once that takes off, then this specific corner will be worth far too much to NOT build a 1,000+ foot icon. They'll then abandon any placeholders and commission Viñoly or Jean Nouvel to put something truly showstopping together.

Just one pragmatic dreamer's guess.

This building is exceeding my expectation. It'll be an exciting moment when this building surpasses the height of OMP

You'll likely get your wish. Viñoly designed this and one and the larger sibling.
