Not too far from topping out. This one has shot up pretty fast in the last month. Can't wait to see it completed on that corner.

I'm really hoping the CTA reopens the closed stairwells (at least the one on the south side of Grand at the bus stop) here. Also that big wedge of crap between Halsted/Milwaukee/Hubbard is just begging for redevelopment now.

Totally agreed, the CTA ought to re-open some of the paved over stairs at the Grand Blue Line. There is a lot of jaywalking from the exit north of Grand to the bus stop south of Grand. That's seems like an avoidable safety issue.

And with 2 largish buildings under construction at 500 N Milwaukee, another smaller project a block south, and plans for a few more small to midsize residential projects within a block or two, the population using that station is going to increase significantly. And that's before we even talk about redeveloping the mostly single story wedge between Milwaukee and Halsted SSE of the intersection that you mentioned.

Do you think we need the entire forum out in full force to combat against all the NIMBYs. A huge crowd of them is never a good sign for development projects

Good news: you usually don't close a revenue-generating garage and retail shops unless you're ready to begin construction.

Lake and Halsted has really shot up. I was going up on Halsted from Pilsen yesterday and saw it from there. I couldn't figure out for some reason what building it was for a good 30 seconds as it was expected the building would be that tall already.

The building on S State Street is 1001 S. State. Also, it's great to see you back on the forum after a month. How did you get such a good view from Homan ave?

This is fantastic. It's been so long since anything made a dent in the skyline, and what a lovely skyline it is.

^ Yeah, well the bigger and denser your skyline is, the harder and harder it is to make a "dent" in it.

Really all we can do is to "thicken it" in River North a bit as well as expand it southward with some more development in the south loop

What are you talking about? 800 foot buildings easily dent Chicago's skyline, and 1000 footers make huge dents. Even a 700 footer west of Dearborn in RN would leave a big mark.
