One of the better videos of the Charlotte metro. It covers like all the rivers and lakes except for the largest lake Surprised to see no mention of South End, the fastest growing part of the city.

New: The Strawn Cottages site in Dilworth, pegged for redevelopment for 10-plus years, appears to finally have some momentum. Site owner Inlivian and The Fallon Co. plan to break ground on an office tower and a first phase of housing next year. https://bizjournals.com/charlotte/news

Quote:

After years of planning, designing and conceptualizing, Fallon and Inlivian will next year break ground on the first phase of what will be a $400 million-plus redevelopment.

The project, now called Centre South, will include up to 1.4 million square feet of development across multiple phases, including 330,000 square feet of office, 60,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, 745 residential units, potentially a 180-room hotel and open space. The first phase will include an office tower on South Boulevard and housing.

I was one of those people begging for lighting update for the Hearst Tower (sorry, it will forever be this to me) to counter the new towers on South Tryon. The skyline lighting should be a bit more balanced. Kudos to Truist.

NoDa

@CBJFahey

New this AM: A New York developer will soon have more than 4 acres at 36th and Tryon in NoDa after putting additional land under contract this month. A grocery store may be in the mix for a future project there
Quote:

Ezra and Long declined to comment on specifics about the NoDa project. But they say the planned development will be consistent with TOD-CC zoning and include a mixture of uses, including a residential component and ground-floor commercial space. There will also be a very active street experience, Long said.

Took these last week from the Gateway Village parking deck. Think I am destined to watch the Gateway Station rise
