Def agree option 2 is the better one. also like that they added a rooftop pool and bar to it as well.

BTW the height designation for this block is 120 feet so they arent seeking any height waivers.

The programming space documents indicated there will a 3 meal restaurant, a steakhouse, a japanese restaurant (most likely NOBU) and food hall. Also, the new programming shows a full size sports book. Theres also a rooftop pool and bar on 17th floor.
Also, the NPP report indicated the current Harrahs Hotel will actually stay the way it is for now. Thought that a bit strange but I guess they are going to address that and Fulton later on?

That is odd. I hope they do something to that tower to give the whole area some synergy. I could see them doing a second phase with it since they've talked about revamping Fulton. Do we know the timeline on when the Ceasars reno is to start? I'm sure the folks at the four seasons would love the pile driving to be over with sooner than later

The new Hotel Indigo is just down the street from the old Kolb's Restaurant. I know it's been closed, but is there anything going on with that building?

I haven't seen anything about that building recently.

Looks like a pretty substantial project if approved

Proposed Slidell casino's price grows by $75M -- even before it goes to public vote; see additions

https://www.nola.com/news/northshore...276cd7bf7.html

The price tag of a proposed casino near Slidell is going up by $75 million, St. Tammany Parish officials announced at a news conference Wednesday, with the head of parish's economic development agency calling the project the most significant in terms of investment and job creation in St. Tammany's history.

The developer, Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, is adding more convention and meeting space, expanded entertainment options and outdoor upgrades, pushing the total cost from the previously announced $250 million to $325 million, according to Chris Masingill, CEO of the parish's economic development agency
.

State Sen. Sharon Hewitt, who along with Rep. Mary DuBuisson led efforts in the state Legislature to bring a casino referendum to St. Tammany's voters, said that the larger meeting space, including a ballroom that can seat 700 to 800 people, will bring major conferences.

Jay Connaughton, a spokesperson for Peninsula Pacific Entertainment, said that the changes include a firm commitment to building an amphitheater that would seat 5,000 people and upgrades to a marina that is part of the property.

The casino-resort is proposed for a site off Lake Pontchartrain near the foot of the Interstate 10 twin spans.

Anyone else getting a Margaritaville vibe from these renderings? is that going to be the brand?

Interesting plan for Esplanade... much better than I would expect for Kenner (brah). I'm surprised to see new apartment complexes planned, I thought Jefferson Parish had basically banned these everywhere like St Bernard did.

It looks like they want some pedestrian connections to the Cannes Brulees neighborhood (currently fenced off) so that's good to see. I hate fenced neighborhoods, anyone who wants to shop at Target or see a movie can't just walk there. Hopefully the NIMBYs don't make them keep the fence.

The new bridge at 34th St is also good for the same reasons.

Agreed, but it’s weird the densest part should go between target and the movie theater, since there’s no current neighbors to complain. I’d move around the layout if they want any chance of actually constructing this.

Phase 1 includes the redevelopment of the Historic Butterworth and Hutchinson buildings immediately across from the hospital. The initial 55,000 sf is envisioned to have a private rooftop club, member lounge, startup co-working, innovation labs, curated event, and space dedicated to OHUB Futures & Fortress Academy’s software sales, software engineering, cybersecurity specialist and robotic technician bootcamps. The district will contain a mixed-use of commercial, residential and retail communities designed specifically to create, build and position all the citizens of the New Orleans region for equitable inclusion in the global technology, startup & venture ecosystem as a path to shared prosperity, meaningful reciprocity and multi-generational wealth creation in the future of work, fourth industrial revolution and beyond. Anchored by a membership model, the OHUB x NOLA Innovation & Equity District will bring together like minded people, startups, small businesses, investors, corporations, philanthropists, college students, youth, the overlooked, under-estimated and more for fourth industrial revolution exposure, rapid up-skilling, new career pathways, high growth company building, capital access, investment opportunities and more inside of a state of the art campus constructed at the intersection of culture, code and conscience

Commentary: The ‘parklet’ program works, so let’s keep it

https://www.nola.com/gambit/commenta...-siderail-next

I definitely think the program has been a great success and should be kept long
term. Only suggestions Id make is that the city immediately extend the program while more long term design requirements are implemented and fine tuned.
