Guys, I've posted some 2020 Census for Atlanta, on the Downtowns thread back on the City Discussion:

Midtown ------------- 32,240 ----- 20,225 ---- 13,643 ----- 9,631 ----- 59.4% ----- 48.2% ----- 41.7% ------- 5.0 km² --- 6,415.9 inh./km²

Downtown ---------- 21,026 ----- 14,615 ---- 12,089 ----- 8,635 ----- 43.9% ----- 20.9% ----- 40.0% ------- 5.1 km² --- 4,114.7 inh./km²

Atlanta ------------ 498,715 ---- 427,042 --- 418,371 --- 393,962 ----- 16.8% ------ 2.1% ------ 6.2% ----- 350.5 km² --- 1,422.9 inh./km²

Atlanta MSA --- 6,089,815 -- 5,286,728 -- 4,263,438 -- 3,082,308 ----- 15.2% ----- 24.0% ---- 38.3% -- 22,496 km²

Same pattern: explosive growth all over the Downtown and Midtown axis, much faster than either the city or metro area. It's not intense as Miami, be it in terms of density of growth, but it definitely became a busy urban hub.

For definition, I used 5 census-tracts for Downtown and 10 tracts for Midtown.
Downtown+Midtown population grew two-fold in the past 20 years, and they're actually speeding up.

Those numbers confirm what many of us have been feeling for years. We still could pack in a lot more people too.

^Thanks for pulling that data together. Not surprising at all; the number of new apartments built over the last decade in Midtown is huge.

A planning permit was filed for an adaptive reuse addition of the Atlanta Belting Company building at 560 Edgewood. Looks like it will be 100,000 sqft of office space.

Metro Atlanta Development Map

Also, for anyone who may be interested in having access to a map that tracks development projects across the city in real-time (with up-to-date project renderings and news coverage), you can access it here:

Some of these look great, Campanile has utterly been the biggest disaster in ATL history, it totally looks like shit and is a massive eyesore due to Dewberry. It will likely be like this for year's to come, the city should sue his ass off.

Saw this posted on Nextdoor. Not if/when this will ever be finished as long a Dewberry is managing things.

Cooldude you just broke Atlanta's moral code: when Atlanta is about to be pushed over to the 2nd page of the Compilation section, you can only rescue her by providing BREAKING NEWS on a new MEGA tower announced in the CBD. Otherwise, it's just click bait and we're pissed off all over again.

Dang Cooldude... I thought you knew.
