Well you certainly cared enough to arrogantly mock another country’s historic traditions and culture. So obviously you’re still butthurt about the English. Lol.

You guys are naive and so touchy... Can't you take anything easy?

That's only between us, English and French.
You guys are Canadians, that's something else.

If it’s between you and the English, then why are you telling us about it?

Frankly, I found Charles and his wife touching when they had to receive those laughable crowns full of gems, diamonds, emeralds and other precious stones on their heads.
Both of them looked like worrying - hell, I hope that stupid crown fits me and doesn't fall off my fucking head.

Their old crowns are rather poorly designed in my opinion, by the way. That's when you see the Italian and French silversmiths have always been better at this shit.
The English don't have the right touch for that kind of things.
You overlook that much of the world craves some sense of security and continuity with a ceremonial, emotional, perhaps even irrational link to the past. Perhaps in France you are so blinded by your omnipresent and tangible history extant that you do not realize what the world would be like without it. Live long and prosper mon ami, God save le Macron.

Gotta love the French-so jealous of a monarchy they keep trying to recreate a king, rather it’s Napoleion, DeGaulle….

Ironically, many Canadians are in agreement with him, or at least we don't want that representation for Canada. Personally I like to see the pomp and circumstance of history; we live in a rather callous under cultured and sometimes nonchalantly boring world; it's nice to see, and I don't mind if it represents us either. And remember that it was "Loyalists" that largely populated Ontario.

^ I get it, but maybe a "snowflake" is not the best symbolic choice these days.

One might be more impressed if it were an actual crown, rather than a picture of a crown.

I was just joking. The snowflake doesn't bother me at all.

And, on a side note, Princess Anne, the Princess Royal will be spending three days later this month in Moncton and Sussex NB celebrating the 175th anniversary of the 8th Canadian Hussars, a regiment founded and based in southern NB. She has been the honourary colonel in chief of the regiment for the last 50 years.

There are lots of activities planned, many of which the public are invited to.

LOL, this crown is a nice not so subtle jab at the far right. Love it.

As for a guy (me) born in London England I think it's safe to say the time of the monarchy being our head of state died with Queen Elizabeth.

The Commonwealth should remain though be restricted. And the Royals in England should be downgraded to more of a tourist attraction, much like they are in 11 other countries in Europe.

Canada's relationship to the monarchy will remain unchanged under King Charles III. The debates about it will go nowhere.

The decision to put him on the 20-dollar note (not "bill") is a pretty clear indication of things to come.

You read it here first.

Most people won't even notice the difference between him and his mother. They both have the same damn face.

Me, like most people, don't even ogle cash when I receive it.. on the rare times I even use it.

I didn't even see a snowflake there, looks much more like a flower to me.

Not like one needed a high-performance crystal ball to know this...

I thought they might drop the monarch from the $20 and keep it just for the coinage. A step too far, too soon, I guess.
