For sure, if someone disagrees with me or I don’t agree with them that’s cool. It’s their opinion.

Awesome to see the Worthington tower starting up!

"We live in a beautiful place." - Saunt Orolo

Do you guys remember when times were slow and we used to play a game of guessing where pictures were taken from? I think I found one that will test a few of you.

Where did I take this picture from?

Have any of you noticed progress on the Edison House Social Club since this photo was taken the first week of August? Also, Marmalade should be a lot further along since August on the exterior cladding.

Marmalade has been an incredibly slow development. They should rename it molasses!

Did Blah really leave?!? Blah. I know you’re still reading this. This is what’s wrong with the world, people of content and value back away when people run their mouths. There is really only a few people that add valuable content to the conversation like you. The rest of us get to enjoy being able to make comments and share opinions because of what you bring to the table. Don’t let the monkeys win! The monkeys can’t win! Now it’ll be random Luckys bananas for the rest of us since another fruitful banana tree has fallen. Damn you!!! (Fist shake angrily in the air)

Posters are gonna Post,
Trollers are gonna Troll,
Haters are gonna Hate,
Scrollers are gonna Scroll.

If you Scroll past the Haters and the Trolls,
They cease to Exist.
If you Feed the Haters and Trolls,
They turn into even bigger A**holes.

BLAH was indeed AMAZING.
Though the Haters took their toll,
I hope he does return soon,
Hopefully he's learned to SCROLL!

Once 95 state is completed where do we think the CCR will turn their focus next? Cascade? Parking lot west of temple square?

I bet they shift their focus to the lot directly east of Harmons.

There has been some discussion on this. There are a few camps but, the NW Corner of 1st South and 2nd East (East of Harmons) is likely the next focus.

The other camps are split between adding additional Office space and waiting to allow other developers to add their mark on the City and only building if the economy looks to slow down.

Thanks for the info. The lot to the East of Harmons was slated for residential right? If so, why not move on the cascade project? It seems like that would naturally be the next Developement since the foundation is already in place? Make the Cascade the new tallest! Maybe they are letting the dust settle and see what is the tallest and then make a new mark on the skyline? That’s my theory.

I was involved in some of that speculation and development about 9 months ago. I'm not sure what has developed since then. There was talk about the Cascade. There was talk about the Deseret Book property, and talk about the block to the west of Temple Square. I'm sure that PRI is always looking at the future possibilities of development, and I bet we hear about something soon. I do know that the FFKR development of the Elks on South Temple was moving forward, at least that was about 6 months ago. I haven't heard about anything for the property directly east of Harmons. Cowboy was originally slated for that corner.

Photo update

I drove through downtown on Friday, and SLC's downtown is getting to be quite eclectic and hopping in certain areas. I'll post more photos of that when I get time.

The Kinko's parking structure new paint job on 2nd South:

Caisson footing rebar cages are on-site for the Astra tower. This is very encouraging. It's going to be a race between Worthington and Astra.

Demo for the Worthington tower is now complete.

The Deseret Book downtown development proposal is shut down now. Not sure what happened but I just checked.

The FFKR (348 South Temple) project is happening. About 140 units from what I know. I'm assuming they will break ground around Jan-Feb. It'll be the pre-exisitng building facing the street and another 7 story taking over the parking lot behind.
