I kind of like that spring garden proposal. If you’re gonna build cheap at least make it look interesting.

Sooooo no one is gonna mention anything about the giant Amazon Warehouse in SW sitting dormant?

I think it was very disrespectful for them to push aside the Septa Trolley Barn for the Amazon warehouse only for it to never open, and sit there unused.

That plot of land could have been 200 Rowhomes or something much more beneficial for the community.

Allegheny West is super interesting to me. It's so physically disconnected from the rest of North Philadelphia. I wish there was a way to integrate it more to the NW part of the city. It's definitely a true transition point.

It's separate enough that's it's isolated from the issues in the rest of North Philly. With the right investments could be totally rebuilt and stabalized as a sort of mason dixon line along Hunting Park Avenue.

What's everyones thoughts on 5th Square announcing endorsements for a bunch of anti-development anti-urbanist candidates? Along with coming out against the new arena? Seems this city needs a new urban pact.

It's bizarre because they're such big advocates of public transit and the 76ers arena would be a huge boost for Septa, especially getting people to use the El and extending regional rail hours to handle events.

You would think that, right? However apparently not lol. It's obvious to me the leaders are much more interested in city hall non-profit clout than actually advancing an urbanist agenda.

Like opting for "well the neighbor's know best! And parking!" argument pretty much completely invalidates them in my eyes.

5th Square has fallen off hard lately imo.

I appreciate NP pulled all these together into one large area tour.

Always enjoy taking my friends who moved away around ~2008-10 to show them how much change has happened since they lived here. shoot once these are complete it's going to be unrecognizable from 3-4 years ago!
