Yesterday, I was able to take some photos from a 5th floor patio on Tryon Street, so I thought I'd just post them here:
Looking north on Tryon, on the far left is the First Citizens Building. In the center is one of the cities two oldest highrises, 112 Tryon, which was built in 1926. To the right of that is 101 Independence Center, which from some angles on Tryon looks very thin but is actually a sort of triangle shape:
Not an often seen angle of the First Citizens building, due to the density on this stretch of Tryon Street:
The other historic highrise, the Johnson Building (Midtown Plaza) built in 1924. The building on the right is 200 South Tryon, built in 1961 and since been given a new facade:
Looking south down Tryon street, the building in the center is 230 South Tryon, built in 1972 and renovated and converted to condos about two years ago:
