I find that facade to be very ugly with those small windows & white rail.

It looks like it's covered in drywall. Is that the final exterior?

I hope not. From the renderings it looks white-ish.

I am almost positive that the building is going to be all white.

Same here. I really thought this was going to have much more glass based on the renderings. Guess I was looking at them wrong or projecting my hopes. At this point, I kinda wish they hadn't added the height and stuck to the original design they proposed in 2016.

Am I the only one who did not think it was going to have that much glass?

Also, agree with the poster above that, that was a the best version of this. (From 2016)

I looooooved the original design. I always thought that since this building won't have any effect on the skyline, why not go with the version that has the best effect on the Riverwalk?

Yes, looking back at one of the last renderings (at the top) it does appear to be an all-white façade with little else really in the way of accents/ other colors. I have no clue what material the façade actually is but it almost seems to be metal paneling or something along those lines? Either way this was slated to **open** in April

I agree about the design too, I remember there being renderings of this height that had more of a glass-curtain look to it which is what I imagined it as - and of course the first design still had the best Riverwalk integration which would've been great

It's still a better building than anything immediately around it aside from the Alamo National Bank/Drury Hotel, so there's that.

I hold out hope that the grey is the unfinished facade and that they'll put some kind of white or near-white coating on it.

Aren't these originally supposed to be condos too? I'm suprised they are listed on apartments.com.

Fairly certain the grey is just the air barrier applied over the sheathing, with the blue around the windows the associated membrane flashing. The penetrations casting shadows (vents, etc.) also are a clue that they still have a few inches of exterior material to install.

The final finish is, I believe, a combination of metal panels and precast concrete panels.

So... yeah, the final finish isn't up yet.

Commerce Street in front of the building is open with a plywood construction canopy, crews are quickly digging up the opposite Drury Plaza side and reconstructing the road. On the Riverwalk side at least the base of the building is keeping the tone of the Esquire with white stonework walls.

Given how long this has taken I'm assuming they're finishing the interior before they (paint?) the exterior.

If they leave it like that... oh boy.

Looking back through this thread, it looks like we've been wondering this for almost a year!
