Very cool.
Totally irrelevant thought - i like the painting type rendering jawns. Feels like 1920s Harlem Renaissance yo.

But anyways,

Empty lot behind 2116 Chestnut. Looks like it's finally going to be developed. Zoning permit didn't leave a description however.

Got slammed at CDR. They requested a redesign.

Fixed that headline. Seriously, this is probably the most disappointing proposal out there at the moment. They could have done something transformative with this lot, but chose to maintain the status quo.

Nice! I'm glad to hear this is still happening. This project along with the recent rumblings of life from the Aloft hotel project slated to take over the Liberty Title and Trust building will really bring some life back to that stretch of North Broad. I guess now that Market East is on a roll, Broad Street just north of city hall is the next logical part of Center City that needs some revitalization.

In response to this article summers posted: http://planphilly.com/articles/2015/...ittle-gravitas

“Go back to the architecture and think about what it means to be on Independence Mall. It has got to be a great goddamn building".
If only this was said to more projects in Philly.

I agree the underwhelming infill has to be checked. This stuff is going in the city's core, where else are we supposed to build the best? Are we expecting to just infill the core and then pack up and go home, city complete?

there has been silence on the 2 broad street projects for quite some time. THe fact that Parkway is saying something SHOULD happen by end of the year is interesting. I wonder why this thing has stagnated when they were moving so quickly to get approvals last year.

That concert venue is supposed to be ready by Oct 1- seems like they have a long way to go. No pics of the apts near the BF bridge? I haven't seen anything on that in months.

No way it'll be ready by then… Maybe Oct 1 2016? There's still a giant hole that smells like sewage in front of the main warehouse building, and the building itself does not look very far along.

There are some recent pics of the apartment building on the highrise construction thread. (One Water St.)
