I thought it was just recycled Hudson River water

lol jk, that's offensive, but I am not sure how much it must cost, I'm sure it is just recycled fresh water though.

It looks very expensive to operate. I think thats why tickets cost 24$ per ... maybe I'm wrong.

It's so expensive because the entire space is a starchitect playground that went way over budget and was built under the assumption that the federal government would want to fund a 9/11 memorial. When they made clear that they didn't want to fund such a thing (or other things, like infrastructure for instance) what you're left with is a monument and museum akin to those found in Washington but without the endowment or government backing, only a private foundation with relatively shallow pockets.

I'm hoping that, once tourists start showing up at the museums doors and seeing the astronomical ticket prices, they'll shame their politicians into throwing a little change at this project. If you ask me, the whole thing should be run by the Smithsonian.

If anything, it should be a National Park Service site. The plaza and museum. It would have to be a unique set-up, though.

Not quite. The National Park Service runs other sites of historical interest such as MLK's childhood home on Auburn Ave. in Atlanta.

They're renovating the World Financial Center, or more currently, Brookfield Place.

I forget where the pictures are, but the lower levels are supposed to be wrapped in glass, home to more retail (or ar least an expansion of the existing retail) to create that endless concourse of retail stores, and to bring BP up to speed with the rest of the site. The entrance of 2BP is also supposed to be wrapped in glass, but it is unclear if they're going to do this to the other entrances or not.

A very haunting exhibit. Does it have an eerie feel to it? Has anyone been?

Out of curiosity, why does it seem like some of the trees surrounding the north pool look like they are dying (lack of leaves on the trees)? That or their growth rate is a lot slower than the rest of the forest of trees. It appears two in particular on the side of 1WTC street have no leaves on them yet at all. Watering issues perhaps? Too much water/mist hitting them from the water falling down from the pool?

I'm just observing this from the memorial earthcam, that's all. I don't know what the situation is once you get up close to these trees.

^Nice observation. I believe those "unhealthy" looking trees were just planted. Naturally, the shock of transportation, etc will cause it to look like that. Give it a year or two and they will be up to speed with the others.
