Zilch on 145 N Damen, I drove past yesterday. Just a big snowy field. I think it's difficult for them because of the Green Line project - they have no site access. Damen is narrowed down to one lane and that block of Lake is totally closed and fenced off. Probably need the station work to get further along before Brinshore starts on 145 N Damen.

The new Green Line stop is also crawling along, but they are supposed to start putting in platform steel in the next month or two. Right now they're still doing subgrade work on the stationhouse and reinforcing the existing column footings under the L structure.

And it was basically nothing. Ankle grabbing by the developers to show it's an open process. No renderings...

The parking lot at the corner of LaSalle and North will be redeveloped.

Whatever is built on the gas station sites will be in the same height line as Moody.

They're still wanting a grocer in the old Treasure Island site...

We'll see/hear more in a few months.

I came in at the end and the guy clarified that Fern Hill owns the 2 gas stations, the parking lot and the Treasure Island building and they’re working with Moody Church and Walgreens to include them in a PD. That way they can consolidate their unused air rights to plan a larger building. Seems like good news.

Yeah, it's a bummer that there were no renderings but it's encouraging that they're consolidating all their FAR onto a single lot. They wouldn't need to do this unless they're planning something tall.

I’m also excited about a cohesive design for the block by Adjaye that develops those gas stations. That would be amazing even if the buildings aren’t tall. The presentation also talked about narrowing Clark St and widening the sidewalks to create a better pedestrian experience and better connection to the park. This area really needs it. It’s way too auto oriented right now.

Ya know what would do the trick? The city needs to revoke the easements given to Sandburg Village that narrowed the sidewalks by about 50% all along Clark and LaSalle. Right now, it's single file if you're approaching someone comin' at ya. And good luck if there's a bicyclist on the sidewalk who's too ignorant to use the designated bike lanes (and there are plenty of them).

I agree about narrowing Clark. Plus there’s the museum and school nearby needing more pedestrian safety. No reason to be 4 lanes since traffic is limited and most of the traffic is on LaSalle. All it does is compel people to speed.

Just north of North Ave, where it's two lanes of traffic and one lane of parking in both directions.

Could definitely use a road diet to be more pedestrian friendly: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9113...7i16384!8i8192

The bike lanes on the stretch of Clark north of North Ave are just extremely potholed and faded sharrow markings, hardly safe to use.

Notice I said Sandburg Village? Clark south of North down to Elm was just repaved and remarked. I know, I live there.
