Especially considering the developer.
They’ve actually added more suited to the development, it’s gone from 200 to 241 units.

Same here. I can't wait for them to start it. I'm hopeful it will clean up and liven the area.

Good to hear. Is it a linear conclusion if ~20 storeys is 200 units that ~24 storeys is 241 units?

They had to shrink the units to meet the affordability requirement of CMHC.

Soil testing rigs on the former gas station site - Henderson and Johnson Ave.

Could be to test how the remediation went or for some new development.

Still in the works - hopeful start before the end of year.

Is complete remediation a prerequisite for development? Presumably anything with a basement would excavate the contaminated soil in the process.

Would be great to see something on that corner.

I'm not sure if that is a standard test that mortgage companies want done before they advance any monies. They don't want to be involved with any land that has a potential problem.

I believe that there is a different remediation standard for a surface level commercial building than any form of residential development on an old gas station location.

Maybe the community park that was proposed a few years ago is finally going in there.

On Facebook there has been some chatter about the multi family residential development that is (was) going up on Kimberly Ave behind Immanuel United Church.

Apparently 311 has been telling callers that there is now a stop work order because the contractor does not the right permits to continue. That also means that the 2 pavement cuts for the sewer connections by the fire station may be there for a while longer until things get sorted out.

Anyone know the details on this:

Globe Property Management:
BIG NEWS! Yesterday, we broke ground on a brand new project! It's called The Bolt and it will feature beautiful suites and amenities on Pembina Hwy near the UofM. The project will be complete in 2024 and we can't wait to share this construction journey with you. A huge thanks goes out to our valued collaborators, Concord Projects, Landmark Planning & Design Inc., and Nejmark Architect, and to Councillor Janice Lukes, who has supported us throughout the municipal processes to get this project going! Stay tuned for more updates!

^I saw that. It's been sitting at the piling stage for a few months now. I assume they had foundation permits and nothing for the building itself.

Down the street at London. The big fire site. They ripped out all the old foundation and the site has been sitting like that for a while now. I think this might have been mentioned previously.

Are people living in the condos that were damaged? Seems empty in there. That is a long time and a lot of people to be put out.
