That website doesn't show any floorplans for which building is for sale, and the only photo is an aerial photo of the general area, and Google maps identifies 4020 Cambie as being the tea place I think. But I am going to presume that for $8m, the property being sold is probably the whole building, including the tea place, plus the Copa Cafe next door to it.

Can anybody confirm?

It's the entire building. The lot is specified in the PDF.

The rest of the block across the street was listed for $14 million and was sold (not sure when)

I went to Coquitlam Centre today, I think its only the second time I have gone since covid hit in March. It was like black friday busy. A lot of the stores had long lineups, lululemon, Aritzia, Bath & Body Works, Apple etc. and Uniqlo was probably the longest must have had over 30 people lined up to get in there.

A few stores have changed, Henrys Cameras has closed up. Did they fail to launch in BC? the only store left in BC is the Broadway store.

I know someone quite close to Henry's Cameras and according to him they've been in trouble for a while and began closing stores earlier this year. The Coquitlam Centre store was open less than a year I believe.

Not that there can't be room for more than one of the same type of store in a regional mall, but perhaps the Coquitlam store not doing well just comes down to Kerrisdale Camera being well-established in there already -- and there being a few other places like London Drugs to shop for camera equipment?

Well, what can I say? It's a urban centre mall with easy public transportation access, lots of parking space and located smack in the middle of high-density residential/commercial zone. It has to be busy.

Well, artificially busy due to maximum capacities.
Similar to how nightclubs create a line-up - but here it's mandatory.

Probably had more to do with their chain wide problems than the performance of Coquitlam considering that it just opened and they are new to the market.

Some tidbits about HBC:

Quote:
  • The Hudson’s Bay Company has announced the launch of a real estate arm to capitalize on assets at a challenging time for the company. The division, called HBC Properties and Investments, will look to convert some of Hudson’s Bay’s real estate into mixed-use developments.
  • Larco, owner of Park Royal in West Vancouver, is suing HBC for outstanding rents estimated to be about $365,000 and growing. Hudson’s Bay’s monthly rent is about $61,000 at Park Royal.
And CBRE is still trying to sell their Vancouver store.

Microsoft store in Pacific Centre items finally being liquidated as we speak. I wonder who will take over that store, which is quite a sizeable one.

More Vancouver wooden retail shanties going up in flames. So much for the "Village" vibe the City is trying to cultivate and promote for most of the shopping streets.

Malls never burn down, amirite? Honestly why do you try any link everything to a City policy and complain that it's a bad one.

Le Chateau closing all stores, files for CCAA protection. Not surprised about this one.

Sure is nice to have fire insurance while COVID wrecked your revenues too.

It may not be so good if you get arrested for it though.
