Until they reach the office portion, the progress is going to be slooooooooooooooooow. Pedestals be damned. I would love to see an office point tower without one. A tower of this magnitude is unprecedented in Austin, obviously, and I can't wait to see this one topped out. I'm still holding out hope for a 52' spire addition. We used to downtown spot from all over the area, I'm curious to see how far away this will be visible.

If you want to see a tower without a pedestal then VOTE FOR Prop A and B. You will never get rid of parking in downtown unless you have reliable, consistent transit options like light rail.

Man oh man am I looking forward to that. One thing you can be certain of is it will pop up on beyond the hills and ridges well to the west (as an example, Austonian/Independent are blocked by hills from Lakeway. Guad almost certainly will peek over). I also expect it to appear from many areas of N Austin were you can't currently spot downtown (due to the topography).

Looking back at a picture from June 23rd when this project was a huge hole and now seeing it almost to grade now 3 months later. I'd say it's moving along fairly steadily. That below grade stuff is a mindfuck to figure out. Now it's time for a mammoth parking garage to start being built...another surreal feat. I'd say 4 months from now the tower will start to be built. Then it's about a floor a week or less until it starts to taper after the set backs. This will be such a wild ride for the next 3 years! All the while a bunch of other projects will be planned, starting and ending.
Was there any mention regarding the tower/crown lighting?

It is absolutely astonishing to see how much progress has been made over a short amount of time. I counted almost 100 men working on site today.

Yeah the footprint to this thing is HUGE.

It’ll begin dominating the skyline well before topping out. Congrats boys, this ones a keeper. Not many cities in the US can say they’re still building this tall during the Pandemic but Austin sure can.

That would be my guess also. They could have 1000 workers on site but with such a large footprint, all that cement still needs time to cure before the next pour. And then there's the weather...

Good. Sometimes I like somewhat slow construction. Means that much longer having those cranes in the skyline. And that much more time enjoying this go up.

You must really be enjoying 425 Riverside's construction progress then

Also - if I'm not mistaken - the tower portion of this beauty is going to take up only a third to half of the entire base you see now.
