Weird how this secondary city has a larger skyline than Orlando, a metro much larger than Broward county alone.

Dang. Some of the best Austin pics I’ve seen! Looking forward to ~30 more towers in those views over the next few years.

Why don't cities in Florida have curbs on their streets?

Not really sure why. Curbs are basically non-existent outside of major roads or urban commercial districts. It's not just a new development/cheap infrastructure thing either. Looking at different areas around Miami it seems that the no-curb thing started around 1950. But even then, 1920's/30s residential areas in Coral Gables or Miami Beach are largely curbless. We don't need curbs for drainage as all water pretty much instantly soaks into non-paved ground.

1920s no curbs:

1920s/30s streets w/curbs:

1950s street no curbs:

Its even the new fad to rehab existing urban streets to remove curbs:

IMO, Austin now has the second best skyline in Texas after Houston. I find the Dallas skyline to be pretty underwhelming for a city of its size and growth.
