I refuse to even acknowledge this as being in Westboro. My parents first moved into the part of Westboro that is now north of the Transitway in the mid 80s. That was when Westboro went from the Ottawa River to about Dovercourt - i.e. it's centred on Richmond Rd and goes as far north as the river and about as far south again. I've seen the real estate info with the then City of Ottawa's area designation: it was definitely Westboro. Since then the powers-that-be have decided that Westboro now goes from the Transitway to Carling, while the part of Westboro north of the Transitway has since been named after the beach: Westboro Beach. It's idiotic. Westboro Beach is the name of the beach in Westboro - it's not the name of a community. So what happens now is that all City affairs relating to the beach are handled by the Westboro Beach Community Association while everything that occurs in the village is handled by the Westboro Community Association. What that means is that people who live north of the Transitway are never informed of what goes on in the village and people in the rest of Westboro are not informed about what's happening at the beach. And people who live south of Dovercourt are told about what goes on in the village but don't care because they don't live anywhere near it. So no, this isn't in Westboro.
Frankly, this just goes to show what a mistake going with BRT and trenching the Transitway was. Instead of an at-grade LRT line with an at-grade station at Churchill that would be an integral part of the community, we have a community-splitting trench and an ugly bunker of a station in the middle of nowhere.
