Cégep de l'Outaouais

As we're all aware, the Outaouais has fallen far behind the rest of Québec when it comes to health and education. Although the CAQ has made a lot of promises to ensure the region catches-up, and confirmed some investments to make that happen, we're still a long way off.

An article in the Droit on Sunday highlighted some of those challenges for the Cégep de l'Outaouais with an interview with DG Poulin (who was considering a run for Mayor but decided to stay at the Cégep).

The institution currently offers 30 programs and would need to add 14 just to reach the Province's average. To do that of course, they need more space.

A few programs they would like in the short term are techniques d'animation 3D, d'échographie médicale et de la logistique du transport. Medium term would be radiodiagnostic.

Stats show that the Cégep de l'Outaouais would need to establish more programs by 2024 or 2026 when they expect a boom in high school grads.
