Back in 2007, I posted a series from Copenhagen. It was my first visit and I had a great time, even though it costed an arm and a leg.
Fast forward to 2025, and it's time to return. It's still an expensive place to visit, but there is still so much to see for a relatively small city.
Let's start with the architecture in Orestad, an ambitious urban development south of the historic centre easily accessible by driver-less metro. There are more new buildings now and the designs range wildly - a feast to the senses. I was amazed back in 2007 and continue to be now. This is one of my favourite regeneration projects worldwide.
The streets had a fair amount of pedestrians and cyclists during the early morning as both adults and children start their day. The metro line runs along the linear district all the way to the end so getting around is not an issue.
