It does look ''squatty'' when viewed from distances greater than a mile particularly northeast and southeast perspectives and I-84 coming into Boise. The buildings height to width ratio is not proportional hence the squatty appearance. I like the building when your in the downtown region, but honestly I think it distorts downtown from farther away, presenting a 'big' box sensation, and not giving downtown the central peak it desires to better define the skyline. The spire is negligible from a distance. The US bank building and the Zions building are basically the same height. The building would feel taller if it were to go straight up rather than cascading inward towards the top.
