More!!!

Here are a few shots from tonight. The air is damp and moist, I did not have my tripod but here goes anyways.

p.s. Bleh, someone has seen these photos a thousand times and is complaining. Maybe I will delete them off of here in the near future.

The new building looks sharp

I've been reading some complaints about this building that the spire looks too much like a Mormon temple. Perhaps, but I'm not complaining - and I'm a non-Mormon who lives in Salt Lake City. It's a beautiful building and I can't think of another building (in other cities) that looks like it. In addition, it GIVES US A NEW TALLEST. Let's celebrate it and it adds to downtown Boise's personality.

I like this photo and the angle. The spire is pronounced.

Fantastic! Well done, Boise

Now we just need a nice 500' tower to shatter the current ceiling and peak the skyline. In due time...

I don't remember seeing this mentioned before in this thread.

Eighth and Main LLC is seeking approval for the creation of 22 condo units inside the Zions Bank tower.

Page 5 of the tranmittal doc explains it.

Thanks Sawtooth for the post-crane updates. I'm still neutral about this building, but the Chase and Zion's buildings compliment each other very nicely.

I quite like the building I just think it's height is very decieving. It still doesn't look taller than the US Bank building to me.

I think the only angle from which it *appears* shorter is at the train depot. Most angles do show it to be 2-3 ft taller, like it Sawtooth's example above. It's fine to say that it "looks" shorter, but you have to be ignoring a lot of angles to feel that way

The reason US Bank looks taller is because it is on a roughly 6 foot high base that is not calculated in the buildings official height.

I like the US Bank tower and Zions Bank tower together. Reminds me off when the Wells Fargo Building was built here in SLC. It really made the LDS Office Building feel more like it fit in.

I really like this building. It's a nice boxy building and the vertical slots give it an old school look. Looks good Boise.

LOL, I don't want you guys take my comment out of context. I love the building. I'm very grateful for it. I just think at certain angles it looks kind of squatty.
