Lot 3: Lot Three was a 65 acre parcel of land at the corner of Jefferson and Overland in Culver City, 8 blocks south of the main lot. The borders were Jefferson to the north and what is now a community college on the south. The site is now housing. Back in the 1960s, it had a street of victorian houses, a 63 million gallon man-made lake and western street. studiotour

Yuki's was at 310 Kings Road at Beverly Blvd. The picture was taken at the rear of the building.

In 2011, on S. Ogden Dr.:

But the above has since been demolished.

The address in 1973 (according to that year's CD) was 989 S. Ogden.

First of all, a belated Happy bERthday! 🥳

Now, an image eatward on Hollywood Boulevard at Highland circa 1930’s posted to FB Lost Angeles here: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=277...8441904263191&idorvanity=462586087848791

Anyone want to hazzard a guess why we never see any photo of a streetcar going around that curved track on the SE corner (at the Toberman/BofA) behind that truck?

The image..

sourced via FB above, but probably W&PA files.

I’m posting this image in lieu of finding one related to the one I’m after: https://livinginaretroworld.tumblr.com/image/146416184438

In a shot of the sign of the Hollymont Car Wash circa 1970, posted on FB Los Angeles, a commentor mentioned the prior existence of the Echo Hobby Shop there in the ‘50’s. Now there is a car site that has gone down for “rebuilding” which once posted images of a custom car show over by the Alexander’s Market area and you could see the Hollymont Bowl bowling lanes building across the road. I seem to have, as usual, accidentally done a deletion of those images in my files. Ratts!! Perhaps that hobby shop was in those shots. Anyone save the images?

The classic hobby shop photo stand in:

sourced tumblr as above.

Found a source that still has the 1955 Ric Hoving photos of the car show up: https://www.instagram.com/p/CiS-ARKqssk/?img_index=7

There’s a couple of them looking north & south along N. Vermont.

Yup. Came and went later. Something altogether new to me. Maybe it was the risin’ of the moon around midnight. If they don’t come back we may have to start calling these guys “Toast Images”. In the meantime, I found a number of ghost images of that car show popping up finally. The Richfield was in the SE corner where the Hollywood Blvd. extension cut across Vermont, even though it wasn’t listed in the 1962 group. A modern image still has a station there.

The tower on the left is the 1924 Commercial Exchange Building at 416 West 8th Street. Coast Federal Savings And Loan Association is still listed across the block at 855 S Hill Street, but Google thinks it may be closed. The building appears to be the same, but can no longer be seen from this intersection.
