Yesterday's high was 24 with sunny skies and calm winds. It seems summer moved in as soon as the jet stream anomaly ended. It looks like we'll get rain Sunday and back to sunshine Monday and through the coming week.

After an overcast morning and some light rain, the sun came out for a breezy and fresh afternoon.

Saturday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 15 C, the low was 10 C.

Raining in Moncton all day.

Currently 15C at 1 PM.

Good to have a nice soaking. It's wall to wall sunshine for the next week with temperatures ranging from 18-29C (tending to the higher end).

Summer has finally arrived.

For over a week, we've been teased with rain in Vancouver, and while we did get a couple of short showers here and there, it's been pretty weak. That ended today. This rain reminds me of the kind we'd get in Taiwan and Shanghai before a typhoon, minus the thunder and lightning.

Torrential downpour for the last three hours.

It's done, first 40 humidex reading. Portage, MB with a humidex of 40.0 right now.

Damn it - I don't envy Vancouver for their rain, except in the summer. Lovely sunny day here, no rain unless you're going to fan it backwards our way. At Gonzales in May we got 2.2 mm for the month, and the only rain in June was yesterday with a short sprinkle, measuring 0.4 mm at Gonzales.

20C (humidex of 22). Mainly cloudy most of the day before it cleared up around 6PM. It's because of that the temperature was able to hit 20. Below that a huge chunk of the day. Overall I have to say pretty crappy weekend. Last 2 highs below normal.

Low of 17C and rainy.

The warmspot was Cypress River, MB at 34.6C.

Warmest low yesterday was Harrow, ON at 18.1C.

12C and sunny in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to 19C this afternoon.

The rest of the week will be sunny and warm (highs 23-29C).

We generally get very little rain in the summer, so there's not much to envy, unfortunately. It's full-on drought season by the time July arrives. I wish we got more rain in the summer.

It was very muggy when I first stepped outside this morning. Grey most of the day. Now it's pouring rain. Frost is possible in the forecast (down to 3C).

One thing about precipitation around Metro Vancouver at this time of year is the wild variation of amounts depending on the particular weather station.
This past weekend (June 6,7) saw the wettest couple of days in months at Vancouver Harbour with a total of 29.6mm for those two days.
Giallo reported prolonged heavy rain in his part of town (Mount Pleasant) so I bet the totals were even higher there.

Meanwhile at Vancouver’s official weather station (YVR), the weekend saw a total of… 1mm.

Late this morning both Environment Canada and Accuweather were reporting light rain in Vancouver (YVR) but I looked out my window (downtown Vancouver) and things were bone dry.
In spite of this recent rain, Vancouver starts Stage 3 water restrictions today.

Here are a couple of Live Cam images from yesterday:

Very little is still better than half of very little!

Although it's raining this afternoon after 0.4 mm for the month. Maybe it'll add up to 5 mm today? Or perhaps I'm being hopeful after 5.0 for the full month of May and 19.8 for April.

Yes, I've often noticed that mcminsen - my sister lives in East Van and they often get hit harder than other areas, but not as much as the north shore of course. And like you said, this time of year it's not uncommon for cloudy and light rain downtown, clearing by Richmond and full sun at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal.

26C with a humidex of 28 and sunny. Beautiful day.

Low of 13C this morning. Still way too fresh but it is to be expected with the dryness in the air.

The warmspot was Fort Severn, ON at 33.4C.

Warmest low yesterday was Winnipeg, MB at 22.3C. That's a new highest low in 2026.

Whole of Canada (minus St. John's of course) breaking records while we have yet to record a 30C day. It is messed up.

14C and mostly cloudy in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to 30C this afternoon with a 30% chance of rain showers.
