That was always a very strange site. Do we know if it's the same owner as the adjacent parking lot?

I'm trying to remember if there is a proposal for that lot and I cant think of one.

If I recall when the proposal for the for the office building across the street with the arched windows came up to get demoed for an apartment tower we lamented the fact that they were knocking down a fairly handsome building with a vacant lot across the street.

I remember some concepts for the parking lot about a decade ago, but it was never an official proposal.

I continue to be sour about losing the former NavCan office building as it is quite nice, and has a fascinating hisotry (built in the 50s as the first curtain wall modern high-rise in Ottawa. Modernization in the 80s kept some of the 50s facade in the back).

I can’t remember who owns ‘the bowl’ at Robinson and Lees Ave (I think uOttawa owns it, right?) but I noticed today an excavator there digging several holes in different spots. It seemed completely random, almost like soil testing — except since when do they test soil like that?

Probably nothing but it piqued my interest.

From poking around on SSP UoO owns it and has plans for student residences and a footbridge/bikebridge over the Qway.

uOttawa has announced its plans for three student residences to be built in the next seven years and none of them are on this piece of land. See the thread on Brooks Residence for where they will be.

Considering they put Montreal south of Ottawa and in New Hampshire, combined some states together, and made Central Ontario look like the Baja peninsula, I’m going to say I would question the accuracy. Also, I know some one here will disagree, but we need to stop using “Ottawa-Gatineau”. It’s Ottawa, period. We aren’t equals. It’s the Ottawa metro area, Gatineau is just a part of that. They don’t say NYC-Jersey City, or Washington DC-Arlington.

"Ottawa-Gatineau" is coming from the name of this forum I think.
As for the map, I think they asked chatgpt to put numbers on a map and it got creative. Not sure if their numbers were collected by chatgpt too or something more credible was used.

Only 10 buildings over 10 floor u/c in Ottawa(Gatineau) seems drastically undercounted. So I'll say very much inaccurate.

Is Halifax really having that much of a building boom right now? Even if these numbers aren't fully accurate.

Ottawa is easily around 25 buildings at 10+ floors under construction. Trying not to include a spot like Releve where this is still minor work being done but the buildings are livable. I think the 1 of the Talisman towers still has its lift.. or at least it did recently.

This is just me going through my head and skimming through the top 2 pages here.

Rideau Residence must be very close to moving people in even though they are still working on the back patio area.

Calgary only at 7? Find that hard to believe.
