Dammit, I came here to share this exciting news that I discovered during my lunch hour walk!

Also, the boards are bone-dry again.

I would imagine that the walkways in Kiweki are also similarly equipped with snow melting glycol loops? That would explain why the concrete was cast so thick.

Now if only the O-Train stations were just done with a little foresight....

Platforms were built heated, at least Stage 1 platforms. Not sure what happened. Don't know if they bothered with Stage 2.

Didn't they end up malfunctioning?

That. I'd like to know why they malfunctioned and if we got a discount on the build and maintenance (we know the answer is no).

I think they might have used electric heat tracing on the LRT stations and if the wires are broken when the concrete is cast the system is basically useless. Liquid glycol is the way to go, the tubes are durable and the pumping mechanism and heat source are independent of each other.

Line 1 Stage 2 has heated platforms & stairs like Stage 1.

The loop around Kiweki is also for fire trucks to protect the art gallery during our wild and crazy fireworks shows. So fire-truck rated laneways and sidewalks.
