Found Drone Videos

Many great recent drone videos of Halifax thanks to YouTube user Scotia Droning.

Halifax looks great in these videos. The second video has great downtown images.

Halifax has come a long way in the past 40 years.

Looking at the still frame at the start of the third video, I can't help but think what a missed opportunity that is. The owners of Dartmouth Crossing obviously spent a lot of money designing a very tasteful space around the stream (if that was the design around Sawmill River in Dartmouth the city would be winning landscape architecture awards left and right). But then the DC owners went and turned all of buildings away from the space...

Not a drone but here's a view from a snowbird plane doing a flyover:

No wonder they sounded like a freight train. They went directly over where I was at the time! Unfortunately I wasn't able to view them.

If you pause the video at different points, you can really see how Halifax is developing.

Halifax 'feels' like an Australian city to some extent.

The city seems so much more consistently built up than a decade ago. It's very solid from Scotia Square over to Sackville St as well as around Spring Garden Road. Gottingen is a night and day difference from before, although the Staples is still odd and increasingly out of place.

There is a definite tabletop effect downtown with lots of ~20 storey buildings. The Marlstone could have had an extra 10 floors. Same with TD.
