See my disqus comment under the Naked Philly piece:
PHC's Architectural Committee Tuesday by unanimous consent recommended denial of the application. The applicant may rework the proposal prior to presenting to the full Commission July 8th, but in view of the committee's extensive critique, this design needs a lot of work to pass muster.

Among other things, the Architectural Committee contended that the varied window placements and proportions are chaotic and the first story seems squashed by the building above it. The development team says they were inspired by the variety of design elements of historic buildings in the neighborhood, but on that point they received pushback suggesting it's not typical for a single building to embody that whole variety.

Job Itzkovitz of Old City District weighed in during the public comment portion, noting, among other things, the provision of a curb cut for access to the 3 parking spaces. He stated that the zoning for the site does NOT require any parking. He also mentioned that their organization has an Old City Design Guide available from their website, which might be helpful in informing the design decisions here. 160-64 N 2ND ST is the first agenda item in this archived Zoom stream: https://dpd-public-meetings.s3.amazo...June212022.mp4
Oh, thank god. I thought it was a done deal.
