true, he's spent his whole life down in Clay County, a fully rural county of only 13,000 people in southern IL. it was the 3rd reddest county in the state back in 2020 with a
+65.4 margin for trump.
people with that solid of a rural red background are probably just incapable of truly connecting with the citizens of a 9M people metropolis here in the 21st century.
