Opening in Spring 2023, the HAA/HGA collaboration project Hilberry Gateway: the future performance home for the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance and the Department of Music, currently under construction at the corner of Cass and Forest. It will house two state-of-the-art theatres with 21st-century technology design, the production facilities and the Gretchen Valade Jazz Center.
The precast walls are all in place, steel is mostly up and the image inside is showing the audience chamber of the main theater looking towards the stage - you can see the steel for the catwalks and the main stage opening. Phase 1 of the project slated to be completed in January 2023 and then Phase 2 (renovation of the existing building) is to start. Construction by Rockford Construction.
