Greeley, CO: Downtown

Greeley is a city in the Front Range Corridor of Colorado, and is the seat of Weld County. The population is around 110,000.

Downtown Greeley is located next to the rail lines for the old Denver & Pacific Railroad. The railroad is still utilized by the surrounding agricultural community, which produces grain, sugar beets, and cattle. The importance of the agricultural community means that just a block from main commercial streets are prominent grain elevators and agricultural buildings. Downtown, unusually, is located on the eastern extreme of the city, with almost all residential neighborhoods to the west, and farmland as close as a half-mile to the east. The University of Northern Colorado is located to the southwest of Downtown. Downtown largely follows 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue through Greeley.
