This view is from a few years ago; but I chose it rather than the current one because it still shows "Grindall Co."
Circa 1978, I had occasion to zoom past this building on the freeway every day I went to work. I looked forward to it, because at that time, it sported, with the company's name, a vivid and beautiful painted representation of a circular saw throwing off sparks. Some years later, it was repainted with much the same picture, but done with less skill; and ultimately, as we see, the picture disappeared altogether, and now in 2022 the company itself is gone.
In 1978-1979, I had every intention of stopping some day and taking a photo of that impressive wall-sign, just for memory's sake; but somehow, and regrettably, I never got around to it. And so I post this in the hope that, by some remarkable chance, someone else has a picture--or at least a fond memory--of this.
