I am not at all surprised that this concept is being downsized and redesigned. It's a good sign as far as I'm concerned, as it indicates the developers are becoming more realistic.

The current design is fussy and probably too expensive for something that requires alot of subsidy to happen.

To me, that lumpy glass checkerboard facade is a bit silly. Vaguely interesting in a way, but basically pointless and unnecessary . A simpler (not to say uglier) design will likely be cheaper and make what is probably an already marginal project a bit more feasible.

In the end, at a site like this, I'd rather see a simpler, more modest project make it to reality than a more dazzling speculative concept remain stuck on the drafting table.
